    A Call to Serve

For any organization to sustain viability and continuity, its members need to step forward and volunteer to carry out functions vital to sustain it. UTHRO is run by its own retirees, offering and sharing many years of competence and experience.  But the need to rotate those functions in order to keep the leaders fresh and the ideas current is self evident.  The progress made by UTHRO via many newly developed initiatives within UTHealth's  administration and the recognition of UTHRO at the highest level calls for a continued dialogue.  That in turn makes the officers of its Executive Committee a critical connection.  The results of those dialogues are of utmost importance to UTHRO members as well as all UT retirees.  UTHRO needs to fill officer positions annually as necessary; current incumbents have often served two-year or three-year terms as conveyed in the Bylaws.  There are approximately 200 members, some 150 in the Greater Houston Area, and UTHRO needs help from its membership to fill these positions.  Don’t stay on the bench and merely watch the game!  Get into the game to participate by contacting any officer to volunteer now.
